Youths Demand to band TikTok in Nepal

 There is a demand to ban the social network Tiktok in Nepal. Saying that it has a negative impact on the society, the youth groups of some districts of Terai have demanded to ban tiktok.

Forming a 'Tiktak Band Sangharsh Samiti', some youth have submitted a memorandum to the district administration and police office. Today (Sunday) too, some youths from Rautahat have submitted a memorandum to the government agency through this struggle committee.

Manibhushan Shah, Information Officer of District Administration Office, Rautahat, informed that the youth along with Sachin Patel, Rautahat Coordinator of SA Committee, submitted the memorandum to District Police Office Rautahat and District Administration Office Rautahat.

"Some friends came with a memorandum saying that obscenity has spread on Tiktok, it should be banned," he told Tekpana.

The Sangharsh Committee is demanding that Tiktok should be stopped by forming a group in different districts of Tarai. Currently, it is said that coordinators have been selected from Mahaettari, Siraha, Saptari, Bara, Sarlahi and Parsa along with Raitahat and submitted the memorandum.

Pankaj Sharma, the coordinator of Tiktok Band Sangharsh Samiti Siraha, is of the opinion that Tiktok should be banned as it has spread obscenity in the society.

"Tiktok creators are spreading obscenity," he said, "because of them, the society has a negative impact."

Through the Sangharsh Committee, a memorandum was submitted to the District Administration Office Mahottari on Friday.

Upendra Neupane, Information Officer of the District Administration Office, Mahottari, said, "Social media has both positive and negative aspects. They had come with a memorandum to minimize the negative aspects. Our attention has been drawn."

The members of the Tiktok Band Sangharsh Samiti have held rallies in various places demanding the ban of Tiktok.

In addition, they have also started a campaign to report the accounts of users who have obscene content on the social network Facebook.
